The translation doesnt even do the chinese lyrics justice, i feel.

My point is, isnt chinese language quite amazing? I personally feel that it is more in depth and "more than meets the eye", as compared to, say... english? I use english cause thats the only other language i know.

Well come to think of it, how many english songs are there that lyrics are nice and in depth? Lady Gaga's Pokerface? Pussycat Dolls' When i grow up? Paris Hilton's Nothing in this world? Yes they are all catchy but im talking about language here

Dont you agree almost all english songs nowadays are so... plain (sorry cant find a more apporiate word!) Read it once, or twice, and you get it already. Sometimes they dont even make sense to me. I mean, does pokerface supposed to have a meaning?

So in a sense, english are all quite easy to write, just write about your ex bf/gf, make sure the words rythme and there you go! :)

Somehow I think Fang wen shan (the one who wrote all these) are fucking talented, we need more of him. Less of the dont know what "see cockroach i not scared" shits. He is my favourite Lyricist.

By the way when i read the lyrics of tht song, i can safely say i do not recognise 70% of the words, so obviously i cant understand it. I had to ask Alice and she had to one line one line explain to me. -_-

Anyone heard of Jay's 一路向北? I actually used my office com and print it out, copied into my organiser (yes in chinese!) and sort of decipher it with GR (omg now i type his name i wanna puke! more abt him -_- ). I have a friend who came and tell me that our common malay female friend enjoys jay chou's songs and i was like "pls la she enjoys his music not his songs, she confirm dont understand one la!"

really ma! anyway as long as she likes it im cool with it.

I have many many friends who deem Chinese songs as... low-class, jaey is one of them and he always call me a loser when he sees my MSN's displaying me listening to chn songs.

lagi worse, i once had a friend who said Mandopop (read Jolin, Jay, SHE etc) are for those china/malaysian factory workers.

HOW FUCKED UP WAS THAT?

and if you say you enjoy mandopop they straight away group you as one of their cheena-speaking friends. and they will group among themselves and talk about which band is the coolest. Okay they didnt do that but you can imagine. they most probably come from CHIJ (whatever outlet), ACS, SCGS, Cresents etc english-speaking school. sterotyping here btw.

Its fine, they like their english songs, i like my mandopop. I make it clear, I also like english songs because of the tempo and they are quite catchy, think Katy Perry's Hot and Cold. Sean Kingston's Beautiful girls. i just feel that mandopop's lyrics are better.

So in a way, Chinese is harder . and a more... beautiful language. and Im the kind that reads chinese extremely s...l...o...w..., but thankfully i speak mandarin at home la. So i dont read chinese cos i think damn tedious to read one by one whilst i can just scan thru an english article.

oyah, speaking of chinese songs next time im gonna sing this in KTV.
